A touch of cream tames the vodka burn in this delicious tomato sauce.

Ingredients

1tablespoon olive oil
1small onion, chopped (1/3 cup)
2cloves garlic, finely chopped
1can (28 oz) Muir GlenĀ® organic crushed tomatoes with basil
1/2cup vodka
1teaspoon sugar
1/4teaspoon coarse salt (kosher or sea salt)
1/8teaspoon pepper
1/2cup whipping cream

Preparation Directions

1.In 10-inch skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Cook onion and garlic in oil 3 to 4 minutes, stirring constantly, until crisp-tender.
2.Stir in tomatoes, vodka, sugar, salt and pepper. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in cream. Heat just until hot.
3.Serve over cooked pasta as desired.

Serve-With:
Try fettuccine or penne with this sauce--they're both good choices. Then, top servings with a generous sprinkling of freshly shredded Parmesan cheese.
